    Psychotropic Pharmacogenetic Testing

Psychotropic pharmacogenetic testing is a tool that helps providers understand how an individual’s genes may affect their response to certain psychiatric medications. This type of testing analyzes specific genetic markers that influence how the body metabolizes and processes medications commonly used to treat conditions such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and Mood Disorders.

The test is typically completed with a simple cheek swab or saliva sample and may help guide medication selection by identifying medications that may be better tolerated or more effective based on a person’s genetic profile. While pharmacogenetic testing can provide helpful insights, it is only one part of the treatment process and is used alongside a comprehensive clinical evaluation, medical history, and ongoing monitoring.

Results are reviewed together with your provider to support more personalized and informed treatment decisions.
